I am a huge fan of social media for socializing and Internet-based resources for education, but nothing here has convinced me that there is value in using Twitter for education. None of the statistics presented suggest that students learn more or better using Twitter, only that students are using Twitter and that they enjoy social media. They enjoy beer, too, and providing it in lectures would also probably increase attendance and participation. Quick and witty has it's place, but it does not replace meaningful and thoughtful. And, really, who are these people who care that I am having a cup of coffee?

We have used twitter in our class as a way of creating our own textbook. It was really a book for those students who wanted to complete some further reading around the subject we were studying. My younger brother and his English Tutor also uses twitter for their lessons.

Hi Carol,
I am doing a workshop at a conference this month. Can I have your permission to use some of your ideas?
Thanks,
Susan

After following this tutorial I now have a nice working Windows 7 Rawdisk VM in Ubuntu but this virtualized Windows 7 sees (regarding disk-manager) all my partitons (i guess that is caused by the mbr file that we created but i am not sure).
What happens if I try to access some part of the harddrive that is not shared via the partiton defined in the vmdk device? Will this cause some kind of crash on the virtual Office 2010 ? Or will it cause some sort of filesystemcorruption on the host?
